The herd of long-lived cows
- F109 – Sandisfarne Flame Blackberry SP PLI 203 LP70 EX 93(2) 5th Calver -
We regard Blackberry as our best all round cow! She is the dam of our present (Firebrand PLI 228 by Oman) and past stock bulls (Black-Magic PLI 155 by Shottle). She has three generations of 100 tonne dams behind her.
Her dam Addison Blackberry 2 has a bull on test at Genus- Sandisfarne Garth by Garrison. Her sire stack is Patriot (our stock bull from the Arabis family) Addison EX92(2) 100 tonne, still milking, Sunnyboy 100 tonne EX91(2), F16 LP120 EX90 who earned 9 stars naturally! She has just started her 5th lactation and at 144 days, has already been pd’d to Garrett. She has had no individual feeding, nor any special treatment. HUK details
- T57 – Sandisfarne Terracotta Arabis LP140 EX94(9E) 11th Calver, by Boilea Buck. Along with Nesta Frances, she has been classified EX94 for the 9th time, one of the highest multiple Excellents in the country. She has lived within the herd with no special feeding or treatment and still stayed the course in our large numbers. She is the matriarch of a group of three generations LP100 daughter and LP100 grand daughter, still milking within the herd HUK details – Photo
- A31 – Sandisfarne Afghan Ruby LP110 EX92(6E)PLI 146 10th Calver, by Celsius. Her milk quality is terrific. She has been recently pd’d to Garrett. We would keep the calf if it happens to be a bull, like many of her past calves! HUK details – Photo
- B45 – Sandisfarne Birch Arabis LP90 EX92(2E) PLI 161 7th Calver by Lava – A grand daughter of Terracotta Arabis who too has stayed the course. HUK details
- C28 – Sandisfarne Coral Ruby LP110 EX94(4E)PLI 123 8th Calver, by Novalis – Ruby again one of our stayers. She has been classified 95 points in the udder. We are using her bull Coralline by Oman as a stock bull within the herd.

- I134 – Sandisfarne Inspired Melody VG88 PLI 174 3rd Calver by Shottle, out of one of our favourite cows, Britt Melody LP100 EX93(4) by Lord Lily.
She just missed the classifier this time, calving a couple of days later. She is our best all round Shottle, she will score a lot higher as
